Duchess of Cornwall strolls barefoot on the beach

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall defied bad weather in Cornwall today to make their second visit to the Isles of Scilly in three years. It was uncertain whether the Royal couple would be able to make the short helicopter ride from the mainland to St Mary's with public flights cancelled due to fog.

Their first stop was at the Sussex gig shed where they met members of the well-established Tresco and Bryher Gig Club.

Camilla sheltered under an umbrella and took off her shoes as she made her way across the sandy beach.
