Syria will 'eliminate terror'
Syria's President Assad said his government had a duty to "eliminate terrorists" to protect its people. He also ruled out any solution to the crisis imposed from outside the country.
Kofi Annan to hold 'Action Group on Syria'
The UN envoy to Syria Kofi Annan intends to hold an 'Action Group on Syria' in Geneva, Switzerland on June 30th.
Mr Annan's deputy, Jean-Marie Guehenno, said the meeting would probably be at ministerial level and would aim to arrive at a framework for inclusive political transition in Syria.
