Special 'Royal Sovereign' strawberries for The Queen
A special crop of strawberries is being delivered to Buckingham Palace this week as a special gift from Britain's soft fruit growers. The 'Royal Sovereign' strawberries were served at the 1953 Coronation banquets. They've been grown especially for the occasion.
First grown in 1892 this variety of strawberry is considered to taste better because of its tenderness and brilliant scarlet skin.
