'Penguin man' wins more votes than Lib Dems in Edinburgh ward
A man dressed in a penguin suit has won more votes in the local authority elections than both the Liberal Democrat and Green party candidates.
'Professor Pongoo' (real name Mike Ferrigan) pledged to wear his penguin suits to every full council meetings if he was elected to represent the Pentland Hills ward for the City of Edinburgh Council.
He received 444 votes compared with just 370 for the Liberal Democrat candidate Stuart Bridges, and 322 for the Green party's Phyl Stuart Meyer. Read the full story with STV.
