Defence Secretary: Britain could commit more forces to support Afghan counterparts
Asked by The Times (£) whether Britain would commit any other forces to continue to support their Afghan counterparts, the Defence Secretary, Mr Hammond said:
“We haven’t decided yet. The decision will be taken on the basis of what, if anything, we need to continue to do to ensure Britain’s vital national interest, which is ensuring that the Afghan National Security Forces can hold the ground and avoid Afghanistan becoming again a haven for international terrorism.”
