Teachers to raise concerns over violent video games

Teachers want children to spend less time on computer games and more time playing and taking exercise.

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers will be raising concerns at their annual conference next week. The violent nature of the some video games will be on the agenda, along with how parents can best monitor what their children see.

If you have got a game in the house it's very difficult to police who's playing it. The watershed tends to work quite well, but with online TV and video children and young people are probably watching inappropriate content over a range of media.''
