A1 closed in Durham due to lorry fire

A section of the A1 is closed due to a HGV on fire.

The vehicle is on the hard shoulder just north of junction 62, near Carrville, County Durham, on the southbound carriageway.

Traffic will be diverted off at junction 63 at Chester-le-Street

The northbound carriageway remains open.
