A1 exit closed due to lorry fire

The A1(M) northbound exit slip road is closed due to a vehicle fire at J51 A1 / A6055 Leeming Lane / Back Lane (Leeming Bar).

Four North Yorkshire fire crews and a water bowser are at the scene near to the Leeming services.

Twitter users said the noise was so loud they thought there had been an explosion.

The A1 is still open. No one has been injured.
