Longer shopping hours bring £700 million extra into Newcastle

Newcastle city centre has seen a surge in visitor numbers following the Alive After Five initiative - and it's brought millions more to the city since it was introduced.

Shopping opening hours and free parking after 5pm were introduced six years ago.

It's estimated to have brought 708 million pounds to the economy.
