Druridge Bay picnic protest draws crowds
Hundreds of people gathered on the beach at Druridge Bay this afternoon - to protest against proposals for a new opencast mine near the beauty spot in Northumberland.
Campaigners like conservationist Bill Oddie say as well as damaging tourism in the area, the planned development would also damage the environment.
Developers Banks Mining say they'll protect wildlife, create 100 new jobs and boost the economy.
