Body found in River Tyne believed to be missing Margaret Macdermott

A body found in the River Tyne is believed to be that of missing Fenham woman Margaret MacDermott.

At 12:23pm this afternoon (March 22), police received a report that a body had been seen near the Newcastle Quayside.

The body has not been formally identified, but Margaret MacDermott's family have been informed.

Margaret, who was 50 and from Bolbec Road in Fenham, was reported missing to police on Saturday February 13.
