Stockton South MP James Wharton wins ministerial post

James Wharton, the MP who delivered one of the most important Conservative victories of the General Election, has been rewarded with a junior ministerial post.

The Stockton South MP becomes a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government, where he will have responsibility for the 'Northern Powerhouse' plans to boost the economy of the North of England.
