Shields shooting: 'The way Tipu died has left our world totally shattered'

The family of a man who was killed outside a takeaway in South Shields have asked the public to "take five or ten seconds out of their life to say a little prayer to their God for Tipu".

Mahsum Sultan has said the sudden and violent way that his brother died has left their "world totally shattered".

Speaking at a press conference this morning he said the "devoted father" was the foundation of their family:

32-year-old Tipu Sultan was shot last Tuesday night outside the Herbs and Spices kitchen where he worked.

Northumbria Police have said they still have no clear motive for the killing, but that they have more than 100 officers working on the case.
