70 candles to be lit in honour of Auschwitz liberation anniversary

Services are being held across the region to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

Seventy specially designed candles have been made to mark the same number of years since the liberation of the largest concentration camp, Auschwitz and will be lit today.

Three have been given to the North East in Morpeth and County Durham.
