Middlesbrough swimmer Aimee Willmott in Commonwealth Games final
Middlebrough swimmer Aimee Willmott is through to the final of the 400m IM after storming to victory in her heat.
The 21-year-old recorded a time of 4:39.50 minutes. She will battle it out in the final later tonight with Scotland's Hannah Miley who set a new Commonwealth Games record with a time of 4m38.27.
Aimee said: “It will be a race all the way to the end between me and Hannah Miley, but I wouldn’t want to rule anyone else out.
“It should be a tough, challenging race and we’ll both enjoy it. Hopefully I can pip Hannah to the wall and bring home the gold for England first, that would be great for the rest of the team.”
