Attempted robbery on bus driver

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery on a Newcastle bus driver.

It happened about 9.30pm on Wednesday March 12, on an Arriva bus in Walker, beside the Jubilee Social Club.

The bus driver was approached by two men, one who pushed a large stick through the payment hatch and demanded cash.

When the driver refused, both men ran off empty-handed in the direction of the club.

The men are described as white, in their early to late teens, wearing casual clothing.

The driver was unhurt in the incident.
