Improvements to a Teesside station
Plans to transform Eaglescliffe Station in a £1million redevelopment are a step nearer to completion.
It is part of the Tees Valley Rail Network Improvements programme, which has seen upgrades to a number of stations in the area.
Work at Eaglescliffe is due to start in November.
The new facilities include a waiting room, CCTV and platform benches. There are also plans to extend the car park.
Passenger numbers have risen from 136,000 per year to 150,000 over the past year.
Money from the Department for Transport, Network Rail and Grand Central will pay for the work.
