Pardew credits Kinnear with Remy signing

Newcastle United's manager Alan Pardew credited the club's new Director of Football Joe Kinnear with bringing in Loic Remy on a season-long loan.

The Magpies came close to signing Remy in January, but at the eleventh hour he chose to go to Queens Park Rangers instead. Pardew told the media Remy "was someone I sat and had a meal with six months ago and thought he had signed".

He added: "It's nice Joe got it over the line this time."
