Appeal for information after South Tyneside house fire

Police are investigating after a house was set on fire in South Tyneside.

It happened at about one o'clock on Sunday, November 4th, when a house at St Jude's Terrace in South Shields was set on fire, causing substantial damage.

The house was vacant at the time and no-one was inside or injured.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are making enquiries, including trying to establish how the fire was started.

Anyone who may have witnessed the fire, or who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time, is asked to contact the police.
