People power rocks the music world

A singer from South Shields has rocked the UK's music industry by beating the likes of Coldplay and Rhianna in the midweek charts after attempting a fresh approach to selling his music.

Ginger Wildheart, who made his name in the 1990's with "The Wildhearts" was turned-down by music companies and record labels so he decided to ask fans to contribute towards his new album - before he'd even written a single note.
