David Miliband hits out at youth unemployment
The former Foreign Secretary and Labour leadership contender, David Miliband, has warned of what he sees as the threat to the nation's economic and social future because of the 'massive' problem of youth unemployment.
Mr Miliband told MPs that the problem was getting much worse. He quoted figures from his own South Shields constituency showing a jump over 12 months in the number of long term unemployed aged 16-24, from just 15 a year ago to 250 now.
