Murder investigation launched in Middlesbrough
Cleveland police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found dead at her home in Middlesbrough.
Officers were called to a house on The Avenue in Linthorpe at 8.20pm on Monday 14th May.
A 34-year-old woman was found with serious injuries at the address and was pronounced dead at the scene.
She has been named by police as Jessica Patel, who say she was originally from the Leeds area.
A post-mortem examination has taken place, however, police say for investigative purposes the cause of death won’t be released at this time.
The Avenue is a busy route used by buses, motorists and pedestrians.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around The Avenue, particularly between the junctions with The Crescent and Lancaster Road, yesterday evening to contact them.
