Lego St James' Park sold to the highest bidder

A replica of St James' Park, made entirely of Lego, has raised £3000 for charity.

The model was auctioned off to raise money for the Newcastle United Foundation and will be presented to the winning bidder by Magpies manager Rafa Benitez.

It was built in North Shields by model architect Steve Mayes, who has also built some iconic North East regional landmarks at the Life Science Centre in 2017.

The replica is 66x51cm and 23cm high. The base and case of the item is 72x56cm, 26cm high and weighs 15kg.

The auction closed at 5pm on Wednesday.
