Massive tyre fire at Langley Park

35 firefighters are tacking a massive fire in a unit on the Riverside Industrial Estate at Langley Park in County Durham.

The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service says the fire, which is escalating, is in a big unit measuring 100 metres by 30 metres.

It is almost fully alight.

One man has been treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but no-one else has been reported hurt and there have been no evacuations.

The fire can be seen for miles around.
