Killers jailed for life for murder of Sunderland dad
Two men have been jailed for life for the murder of a Sunderland dad who stepped in to stop his son being attacked.
David Walsh, 45, was killed in Cannon Cockin Street Hendon in November last year after being repeatedly stabbed.
Raymond Brown, 36, of Cannon Cockin Street and Charles Macguire Lamont, 40, of Villette Road, both Sunderland, were jailed for life at Newcaste Crown Court on Monday.
Brown was sentenced to life for murder and two years to serve concurrently for violent disorder. He will serve a minimum of 26 years.
Lamont was sentenced to life for murder and two years to serve concurrently for violent disorder. He will serve a minimum of 13 years.
Lamont's son Dalton James Barnett, 19, of Fuller Road, Sunderland, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter and violent disorder.He was sentenced to six years and four months.
