Campaigners are to hold a rally in Darlington today, to protest against possible changes to emergency care at hospitals in County Durham and Teeside.

The NHS Better Health Programme says "specialist emergency care could be provided from fewer sites, to deliver a high quality service".

No decisions have been made about changes to where care should be provided, but local people are concerned it may affect the standard of care at their hospitals.

ITV Tyne Tees reporter Frances Read has this report.

A public consultation begins in November, and a decision is expected next April.
