Papiss Cissé could face 'spitting probe' by FA

Papiss Cissé may be in trouble with the FA after replays appear to show he and Jonny Evans spat at each other during last night's game.

Newcastle suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at St James' Park.

Cissé and Evans became involved in an angry first-half exchange, and television replays suggest that the pair resorted to spitting.

The incident went unspotted by match officials.

Evans' manager Louis van Gaal, who along with match referee Anthony Taylor did not see the incident, was quick to leap to the defence of his player.
