Newcastle City Pool 'swim-in'
Hundreds of people have been protesting against the governement cuts in Newcastle. Swimmers turned out to stage a "swim in" in protest against cost cutting plans to close the City Pool in Newcastle.
Duncan Dollimore from Newcastle Swimming Club says the closure, which could be as early as March, flies in the face of the Olympic legacy.
Swimmers told ITV News Tyne Tees that the pool is a part of Newcastle's culture.
Newcastle City Council said they are still in the consultation process and that they cannot afford to maintain the building any longer.
