Britons 'spend more time using technology than sleeping'
Britons now spend more time using technology than they do sleeping, new research suggests.
The study, by communications regulator Ofcom, found the average UK adult spends eight hours, 41 minutes a day on media devices compared with sleeping eight hours, 21 minutes per night.
Research also found that Britons are reaching their peak understanding of digital technology at the age of 14 to 15.

The "millennium generation" aged 14 and 15 show the most understanding of digital technology, a new report suggests.
The Ofcom report found that six-year-olds have the same understanding of gadgets as 45-year-olds.
Young people's digital habits were also found to be fundamentally different than older generations, with just 3% of communication time spent on the phone compared to 20% of adults' time.
"Our research shows that a 'millennium generation' is shaping communications habits for the future," Ofcom chief executive Ed Richards said.

When multi-tasking on different devices such as watching television and texting at the same time, the average adult spends 11 hours and seven minutes per day using technology - an increase of more than two hours since 2010.
Research also found that Britons are reaching their peak understanding of digital technology at the age of 14 to 15.
