The husband of Peaches Geldof "is not in any way under suspicion of any involvement" in her death, police said tonight.
Kent Police said musician Thomas Cohen has not been arrested or interviewed under caution and "there is no plan to do so".
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said he was making the position clear following recent speculation in the media.
Mr Cohen discovered Ms Geldof, 25, dead in a spare bedroom at the family home in Wrotham, Kent, on April 7.
At the opening of her inquest yesterday, Mr Fotheringham revealed that recent heroin use by Ms Geldof "was likely to have played a role" in her death.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the death of Peaches Geldof after an inquest found that recent heroin use "was likely to have played a role" in it.
There is an "ongoing investigation into the supply of drugs" in connection with the death of the 25-year-old, Kent Police said.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police can confirm an ongoing investigation into the supply of drugs in connection with the death of Peaches Geldof. There have been no arrests at this stage."
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham had previously said: "Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death."

Geldof family friend: Overdose 'feels like deja vu'
Peaches Geldof's death from a heroin overdose "feels like deja vu", according to a close friend of the family.
Gerry Agar spoke to Good Morning Britain about how Peaches behaviour mimicked her mother's own heroin addiction.
"It feels like deja vu. It feels like I've been taken straight back to the year 2000 and Paula's death and the same sort of covering up - absolutely the same sort of covering up."

Husband found Peaches 'slumped across the bed'
Peaches Geldof's husband Thomas Cohen travelled with his mother to the Kent home the couple shared on Monday 7 April after being unable to contact his 25-year-old wife on the phone, an inquest heard today.
"Thomas entered the property and located Peaches in the spare bedroom," Mr Fotheringham said. It was apparent that she was dead.
"She was located on the edge of the bed with one leg hanging down to the floor and the other leg tucked underneath her. She was slumped across the bed," Mr Fotheringham added.
Mr Cohen called out to his mother and the pair's youngest child, Phaedra was found in the property, and the emergency services were called.
Mr Fotheringham said the last contact with the late TV presenter is believed to have been at 7.45pm on the Sunday when she had a telephone conversation with a friend.
North West Kent coroner Roger Hatch adjourned the inquest for a full hearing to take place on July 23.

At the opening of the inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said a post-mortem examination was inconclusive, prompting further tests.
But he told the hearing: "Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death."
Her mother, TV presenter and writer Paula Yates, died from an accidental heroin overdose at her London home 14 years ago.

Police: Peaches Geldof 'used heroin' before death
