Body found in search for missing teenage girl

The family of a teenage girl missing since December has been told a body has been found on the Gwent Wetland Site in Newport. Police say the body has not been identified and the death is being treated as unexplained.

Gwent Police say they believe a body discovered on Thursday morning near the sea wall at the Wetlands site at West Nash Road is that of missing Newport teenager Nida Naseer.

The death is still being treated as unexplained, pending the outcome of a post-mortem which is taking place today say the force and Nida’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Police searching for a missing teenager have found a body.

Nida Naseer, 19, disappeared nearly three months ago after going to put the bins out at her home near Newport in South Wales.

Gwent Police confirmed they were called to the Newport Wetlands site, in West Nash Road, today where a body was discovered.

Police are treating the death as unexplained.

The teenager was last seen at her home in Linton Street, Pill, Newport, at 8pm on 28th December last year.
