She also met the US commander who gave the order to fire.
"Many people assumed that I would hate him. That's absolutely not the case," she said.

Commander: 'Unfortunate circumstances' around attack
The US Army commander who ordered the attack on the convoy containing ITV News reporter Terry Lloyd has told Mark Austin "I don't think anybody has any blame" for the incident, adding: "It was just a very unfortunate set of circumstances."
US Marine Corp Lt Vince Hogan, who was commander of Red Platoon, Delta Company, has spoken to Mark and Terry's daughter, Chelsey, for a documentary to be shown on ITV tonight on the tenth anniversary of his death.
Lt Hogan had been in email contact with Chelsey before they met in person. They met in a coffee shop in America, but without any cameras present.
Later, he agreed to meet Mark on film, on condition that the specifics of the attack were not discussed.
He said that of all the engagements he was involved in during the Iraq war, "this is the one I come back to - this is the only one I think about."
After the 2006 inquest into Terry’s death, where a coroner recorded a verdict of unlawful killing, the Lloyd family had called for the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions to begin proceedings against the Marines believed to have been involved, including Lt Hogan.
