Fathers for Justice confirm Heathrow protest

Fathers for Justice has confirmed that two of its members have been arrested, after breaching security at Heathrow airport this afternoon. In a statement a spokesperson said:

Armed police have arrested two Fathers4Justice protestors at Heathrow this Father’s Day.

Two men were arrested by armed police after they scaled the perimeter fence. The men were running towards the runway but surrendered to armed officers.

The protest marks a return to direct action for Fathers4Justice and the launch of their London 2012, Fatherless Games campaign

Two men - believed to be from the protest group Fathers for Justice - have been arrested after breaching security at Heathrow Airport.

The men breached the perimeter fence near the airport's northern runway at half past one this afternoon.

Police have confirmed that two men have been arrested and are being held in custody. An airport spokesperson said:

They were quickly apprehended by the police and there has been no impact on airport operations.
