VIDEO: Thousands of cyclists brave the heat riding from London to Brighton

Thousands of cyclists have battled soaring temperatures to take part in this year's London to Brighton bike ride.

The event is now in its 42nd year.

Malcolm Shaw reports.

Malcolm spoke to heart patient Manvir Birk and Simon Gillespie from the British Heart Foundation.

Madeira Drive will be fully closed until midnight on Sunday.

Coldean Lane will be closed until 9pm on Sunday, while Mill Road is shut til 9pm.

Brighton and Hove Buses has warned passengers that due to road closures, several services will be suspended or diverted throughout the day.
