Why is this loyal feline friend up for a national award?

A kitty from Kent is one of 15 fabulous felines preparing to cat-fight it out to win a national pet award - recognising real-life stories of cat bravery, companionship and survival - well they do say we are a nation of animal lovers!

17-year-old moggy Spike who lives with his owners in Chartham near Canterbury is a finalist in the better-together category, after becoming a devoted companion to his owner Mark - who has motor neurone disease.

Our own cool cat Sarah Saunders went along to meet the award finalist.
