A council, committed to using greener vehicles, has added three new electric vans to its fleet.
West Berkshire Council now has five electric vehicles; two Nissan Leafs and three Peugeot Partner vans.
We will now be encouraging staff to switch to these vehicles and make them work in the day-to-day running of council services. While our overriding priority has been to be more environmentally friendly we also believe it will save us money and we look forward to seeing how these vehicles perform against our expectations. I hope too that our use of electric vehicles encourages other people to look into whether they too might be able to benefit from these greener vehicles.”
