Woman, 18, found dead in tent at BoomTown Fair festival
An 18-year-old woman has been found dead in a tent at the BoomTown Fair music festival in Hampshire.
Officers were called to the site at Matterley Bowl in Winchester to reports that a woman, from Buckinghamshire, had been found unconscious.
Despite attempts by an on-site doctor and paramedics to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday afternoon.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of death, but it's not believed to be suspicious.
A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers continue to work closely with BoomTown organisers, and witnesses and friends who were at the event are being supported."
It comes as investigators reveal a fire which destroyed 85 cars at the festival was most likely started by a discarded cigarette.
While no one was injured, the cost of the blaze is likely to run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.
A spokesman for the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "This devastating fire shows the danger and impact of discarding lit cigarettes".
