Two people rescued after yacht goes up in flames
Poole Lifeboat received a 'Mayday Mayday Mayday' call just after 18.30 on Saturday that a 31ft yacht was on fire.
The stricken vessel had two people onboard and was in the entrance of Poole Harbour on the way to Old Harry rocks.
Poole Inshore lifeboat was on scene within 8 minutes. The two people had been picked up by a passing motor boat.
There were a lot of vessels in the vicinity so the lifeboat crew moved them away, securing the area around the burning boat.
The all-weather lifeboat arrived and the crew began to douse the fire down. It was then brought back to Poole Yacht club where the Fire Brigade were standing by to check the vessel over.
