Detectives release picture of missing firearm as they charge one man with murder

A man has been charged with the murder of Roy Blackman at his home in Headcorn Road, Biddenden, on Monday 21st March.

Mark Love, 37, of Frittenden Road, Staplehurst, was arrested on the morning of Thursday 7th April as part of an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

He has also been charged with aggravated burglary and is due to appear before Medway magistrates today.

Meanwhile, officers have also arrested a sixth person in connection with Mr Blackman’s death.

A 41-year-old man from the Maidstone area was arrested shortly after 9am on Saturday 9th April and released on bail pending further enquiries until Friday 1st July.

Four other men arrested in connection with the incident remain on bail.

Detectives have also released a picture of a firearm resembling one reported missing from Mr Blackman’s address.

They are keen to locate the BSA SuperTen air rifle, which had a laser sight attached to the top, and are appealing for anyone who knows of its whereabouts to get in touch.
