School fights to resist closure by becoming academy

A school in West Sussex is battling to become an academy - to stop it closing or being turned into a small satellite unit connected to another school.

Rydon Community College only teaches 11 to 13 year-olds but the Head wants to open it as a full secondary school.

The plans will be discussed at a meeting tonight.
