Leisure boat badly damaged in fire on the Thames

Fire crews have contained a blaze on board a leisure boat in central Oxford.

Thick acrid smoke could be seen across the city yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters were able to prevent the spread of fire to an LPG container which would have caused a serious navigation hazard.

No one was hurt.
