Pair charged with preparing for acts of terrorism in UK
A 24-year-old man from Reading and a 23-year-old woman from Wokingham have been charged with terrorism offences.
Mohammed Rehman, of Radstock Road and Sana Ahmed Khan, of Hutton Close, have both been charged with preparing for acts of terrorism in the UK.
Rehman has also been charged with possession of articles for terrorist purposes.
Both will appear before London’s Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The pair were detained on Thursday 28 May by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit in a joint, intelligence-led operation with the South East Counter Terrorism Unit.
Officers say the action taken was pre-planned and they assessed that the pair did not pose any imminent threat to the UK.
