Man airlifted to hospital following aircraft crash

One of the two men injured in the plane crash was airlifted to hospital in Oxford.

Pictures from the scene showed that the light aircraft completely flipped over during the crash.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said: "Two men were injured this morning when a light aircraft collided with the runway at an airstrip in Shotteswell, near Banbury.

"The collision happened just before 12 noon at the Shotteswell Farm airfield. "One of the injured men has been airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital at Oxford."

Police said the B4100 had been reopened following the incident.
