A search has continued throughout the night for missing Heathfield woman Marion Price and police officers are now being joined by search volunteers.
A woman's body found at Old Heathfield is believed to be that of missing 67-year-old Marion Price. The body was found in shrubs in a field off Church Street in Old Heathfield around 11.20am.
While formal identification has yet to take place, police say they are reasonably sure that it is that of Marion who was reported missing from her High Street, Heathfield, home at 3.30pm yesterday.
Inspector Rob Lovell said, "Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time. While we searched through the night and were joined by volunteers this morning, as time went on we became increasingly concerned for her safety."
The matter is not being treated as suspicious and is being passed to the coroner's officer.
