Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was killed and a 16-year-old girl seriously injured by a car in Hampshire. A green Honda Civic collided into the teenagers near the junction of Ann’s Hill Road and Brougham Street in Gosport at about 4.15am today.
The 16-year-old who sustained serious injuries is currently being treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. A 20-year-old man from the Gosport area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
Sergeant Andy Lynch, from Hampshire Police, said: 'We are working to piece together exactly what happened and any information from the public could be very helpful to our investigation.' Call the Road Death Investigation Team at Eastleigh Police Station on 101, quoting Operation Barb.
