99 mph winds batter the region
The Met Office said wind reached more than 99mph on the Isle of Wight at 5am.
Beach hut destroyed in storm
A cliff fall on the Isle of Wight has destroyed a beach hut, pushing it to the edge of the seawall on the Sandown – Shanklin Revetment. It narrowly missed the nearby Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat station.
