After 43 years of service and more than 200 thousand nautical miles at sea - the cadet training ship - TS Royalist - has been decommissioned in a special service in Portsmouth.

More than 30 thousand cadets have sailed onboard the ship - but it has not been without tragedy. In 2010, 14-year-old Jonathan Martin died after falling from the ship's rigging.

Today, for those who came to say goodbye - it was an emotional end of an era. Sally Simmonds talks to sea cadets, Commanding Officer, Lt Angie Morris and Coxswain David Rogerson
