They disappeared from our streets in the late sixties, although a certain Time Lord has continued to make use of one for his travels. Today, a 21st century police box was unveiled in the main shopping precinct at Boscombe in Dorset.
The police hope it will reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area. But, as Martin Dowse reports, the launch felt rather more like a Dr Who convention.
