Residents urged to help protect Dutch elm trees

East Sussex Council is urging residents in Eastbourne and Brighton to help them protect the elm tree population, by preventing the spread of the Dutch elm disease.

During summer and early autumn, infected trees can be identified by yellowing and shrivelled leaves, turning brown as the infection spreads. The public are being asked to report any they may see.
