The fire had started in a gas-driven forklift truck and spread rapidly through the building.

Workers escape from warehouse blaze

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a warehouse fire this morning at Polestar on the Chaucer industrial estate in Bicester.

The fire had started in a gas driven forklift truck which was in use within the warehouse at the time and quickly spread to the contents of the building. Employees present initially tried to tackle the fire and as the first fire appliances arrived made their escape.

Additional assistance was immediately requested and at the height of the fire over 45 fire fighters with 5 fire appliances and 4 specialist vehicles from Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire attended.
